FAQs
What is the attire for this event?
The attire for the event is what we’d like to call “snappy casual”. Think of what you might wear for a casual Sunday Brunch with friends, or perhaps an afternoon birthday party. We are working on getting a photographer to capture the event, so if you wouldn’t want to be photographed in it, or have the photo posted on this website or on Facebook, it probably wouldn’t work for this event.
What is the parking situation for the event?
Street parking is the only available option for the reunion. Flatbush is a busy neighborhood on a Saturday afternoon, so please pack your patience as you look for parking. If you’re in touch with other alumni in your area, consider carpooling to the reunion.
As an alternative, Erasmus is very accessible by public transportation. By bus, the B49, B41, B35, and B44 are all nearby. By train, the #2 and Q trains are nearby. For specific directions, visit websites like Google Maps (http://maps.google.com), or the Trip Planner on the MTA website (http://mta.info).
Will I be able to walk around the campus?
Yes, we hope that you will take some time during the event to roam about the campus grounds. We hope to have the library open for you to visit as well. If student volunteers are available, some school tours will be given, but self-guided walking around campus will definitely be available. Unfortunately, the Academy building will not be available due to the structure’s current state.
What forms of payment will be accepted at the event?
As of now, we will only be able to accept cash, checks, and money orders for payment of dues, guest admission, and merchandise. We are investigating on-site credit card options, and if they become available, it will be posted on this page.
What is the registration process on the day of the event like?
Upon arrival, you will go either to the gym or the cafeteria (as of 3/5/13 we haven’t confirmed which space will be used). If you have already paid your dues for 2013 and have your alumni card, you will just need to show that card and walk in. If you have paid your 2013 dues but do not have your card, you will give your name to a volunteer at the desk who will check our list of paid members.
If you haven’t paid your dues in advance of the event, you will be given a form to fill out, and then you would pay your dues at that time. If you bring a non-alumni guest to the event, you would just need to pay $10 for each guest, no form is required.
We encourage you to pay your dues in advance to make the check-in process as quick as possible. If you prefer to pay the day of the event, consider printing out the Dues Form from our Donate page, filling it out at home, and bringing it with you to the reunion. This would also make the process move quicker.
When I pay my dues or purchase merchandise, where does the money go?
All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the various athletic and extra-curricular activities of the campus high schools at Erasmus Hall. They also support college scholarships given to deserving graduating seniors. Additionally, dues help the association produce the annual newsletter, the all years reunion, and maintenance of this website.
