To The Erasmus Hall High School Alumni Association:
Dear Friends,
On March 7, 2006 Erasmus Hall Campus: High School for Science and Mathematics' senior class took a ski trip to Camelback Mountain in Tannersville, Pennsylvania. For the vast majority of students it was their first experience at a ski resort. They all had a ski lesson to prepare them for the challenging fun that was to follow. Although the students had engaged in fundraising, the trip was made possible because of your generous donation of $1,000. I've attached two pictures of their festive day for you to enjoy.
Sincerely,
Grace Garofolo
Assistant Principal

To The Erasmus Hall High School Alumni Association:
The students of Erasmus Science and Mathematics are working on a project about World War II. They are interested in hearing from the Erasmus Family from that time period. Alumni who went to war upon graduation, people who experienced rationing, people who worked in the factories, people who had Victory Gardens here in Brooklyn. All have important recollections to share. You can send them to the students via the email of Assistant Principal Grace Garofolo at ggarofo@nycboe.net
or to my attention at the Erasmus address.
As always, thank you, the Alumni, for your continued support of Erasmus students.

March 7, 2005 At Erasmus Hall Campus: High School for Science and Mathematics there has been several important items of interest. Among them are:
* The establishment of a Morning Computer Club. Three days a week, from 7:15 AM until 8AM a group of students meets with faculty advisor Clark Thomas to increase their technological proficiency. An outgrowth of the club has been the publication of a student newsletter entitled "The Dutch".
* The Science Department's application was chosen for participation in United Way of New York City's 2005 CAPS Science Talent Initiative, sponsored by Con Edison.
* Honor Roll students and a portion of the students with perfect attendance attended a
JazzReach Performance of "Stolen Moments: The First One Hundred Years of Jazz."
It was a great season for Erasmus Hall Football. Watch out next season! For more info check out School Athletics, Then and Now
Great News!!!! On June 24th, 2003 The Landmarks Preservation Commission met and voted to declare the entire collection of buildings that make up Erasmus Hall a city landmark. Robert B. Tierney, Chairman of the Commission said that they were excited about the school because of its Collegiate Gothic architecture, a styled modeled after Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and in this case adapted by C.B.J. Snyder. For further information, see New York Times article of 6/24/03.
A followup article was written in the New York Daily News on 6/25/03 by Elizabeth Hays.

On Sunday, May 4, 2003 the sun shone high but the warmth really came from well over 200 alumni, faculty and students who participated in our "Homecoming." Principals Myrna Walters and Dr. Richard Forman were there and Grace Garofolo, Assistant Principal, was also in attendance.
The Homecoming event was a grand picnic on the campus grounds with food, drink, t-shirts and fellowship. This was followed by fabulous entertainment in the gym by Coach Vic Butler's award winning basketball team, Linda Slade's Dance Team, singers and readings of original poetry. The events in the gym were introduced by Coach Alan Zarrow, a teacher and an alumnus.

It left us in a state of grief
A state that cannot be expressed by words
Only by tears
It left many in a state of loneliness
But out of all this disaster
We stood together as one
We helped and looked out for each other
And we remain as one nation that cannot be broken
If we stand for justice, liberty, and freedom for all people
And all nationalities
Then we will be a nation that truly stands for
Liberty
Justice
and
The pursuit of happiness

I have been looking up to you since I was little
Wanting to be like you
Wanting to be around when you couldn't stay
You were my advisor
My hot line
You said all the right words
But not the thing I wanted to hear
You would show me the path
Right or Left
But you would give me a choice
Instead of pushing it in my face
Big Sister
You were a second mother to me when mommy was gone
Love for each other keeps us strong
Big Sister
I love you
I miss you
I will keep you always in my heart
In this school year (9/02-3/03), so far, the Alumni Association has given the School of Business and Technology $1000 for the murals Principal Myrna Walters wanted, JV Basketball received $1000 for jersies and the Soccer Team received $600 for equipment.
